The Port of Santos recorded the best month in its historical container-handling series in October this year. Data from the Intelligence and Statistics Management of the Santos Port Authority show growth of 11.6% compared to October 2024, reaching 550.8 thousand TEU.

Total cargo handling jumped 8% compared to October of last year. Shipments and landings totaled 16.7 million tonnes, ranking second in the historical series, behind only July 2025 (17.4 million).

The growth is reflected in Santos’ participation in Brazil’s trade flows, which reached 29.6% versus 29% in the same period of 2024. Solid bulk (10.3%), containerized general cargo (15.4%), and breakbulk (5.5%) drove the increase, with highlights in shipments of soybeans (94.9%), meat (5.6%), sugar (3.5%), and pulp (2.6%).

The year-to-date cumulative result through October is also a record, with growth of 8.2% in containers (4.9 million TEU) and 1.7% in total cargo handling (155.5 million tonnes).

“We are reaping the rewards of results-based management, with record investments from the public sector and private actors. The numbers give us confidence to move forward with structuring projects, such as the STS10 megaterminal and the deepening of the navigation channel,” says Júlio Cezar Alves de Oliveira, Director of Administration and Finance and interim president of APS.
