The Port of São Sebastião has authorized the start of operations for a new Port Logistics Support Area (AALP), managed by JTLOG Parking Logística, following unanimous approval by the special committee responsible for accreditation. The authorization was granted after a technical inspection, document review, and testing phase that confirmed the facility’s compliance. The yard is located 17.4 km from the terminal and is the second area to join the mandatory screening system for port access.
With a capacity of 153 trucks, the AALP is equipped to provide scheduling and screening services for vehicles headed to the port — a measure aimed at reducing congestion and improving road safety in the region.
JTLOG officially began operations on Monday (1st). As a result, all trucks accessing the Port of São Sebastião must now pass through one of the two accredited areas.
The adoption of off-site yards is part of the Companhia Docas de São Sebastião (CDSS) ‘s effort to reorganize logistics flows during periods of high demand and mitigate the impact of heavy traffic on the city center. CDSS may request additional adjustments to the yard at any time, based on technical assessments.
Expansion
The first accredited yard began operating in October of this year. Together, the two areas can accommodate around 300 trucks simultaneously, ensuring a more organized entry process, greater safety, and better rest conditions for drivers. The measure also helps reduce environmental impacts in urban areas near the terminal.
“With two fully operational screening areas, we expand our capacity to support truck drivers, better organize vehicle flow, and reduce the impact on the city of São Sebastião. This is a key step in our modernization plan and in preparing the port to grow with environmental and social responsibility,” said Ernesto Sampaio, CEO of the Port of São Sebastião.
Linked to the Secretariat of Environment, Infrastructure and Logistics (Semil), the Port of São Sebastião has increased investments in modernization and sustainability. One area of the terminal is expected to be leased in 2026, raising cargo handling capacity to 4.3 million tonnes per year. The expansion of AALPs is part of this plan and reinforces environmental goals related to energy efficiency, emission reduction, and optimization of road cargo transportation.
