Porto Itapoá is expanding its network of international connections with the launch of a new shipping service that directly links South America to the Asian market.
This is a joint operation by HMM (Hyundai Merchant Marine) and ONE (Ocean Network Express), under the names FIL2 (for HMM) and SX2 (for ONE), covering some of the world’s key port hubs.
With weekly sailings, the new service connects strategic South American ports such as Itapoá, Santos, Rio Grande, Buenos Aires, and Montevideo to major Asian destinations including Singapore, Shekou, Hong Kong, and Busan. The route enhances the competitiveness of Brazilian foreign trade by offering greater frequency, reliability, and efficiency to exporters and importers operating with Asia.
The first vessel of the service called at Porto Itapoá on Saturday, May 10, marking the official start of operations on the new route.
“The FIL2/SX2 service is a strategic addition to Porto Itapoá’s portfolio. It meets the growing demand for direct routes to Asia and expands the logistical options for our customers, with a high standard of reliability and broad geographic coverage,” says Felipe Fioravanti Kaufmann, Director of Business Development and Customer Experience at Porto Itapoá.
The new service reinforces Porto Itapoá’s commitment to offering modern, sustainable logistics solutions aligned with the global demands of foreign trade.
