Portonave received the first call from a vessel sailing under the Amazonas Express Services (SEA in Portuguese) from the carrier Long-In. The ship that called at the terminal was the Log-In Discovery. This new line connects Brazil’s South, Southeast, Northeast, and North regions. The operations began at the end of May, and the next call is scheduled for Monday, June 12, with the Log-In Jatobá ship.

With the new service, Portonave, the leader in the South region regarding container handling, will increase the throughput of reefer cargo. Frozen chicken is among the terminal’s main trading goods, with significant numbers in the dry cargo category, rice, olive oil, beverages, pulp, wood, paper, and canned sardines.

Services

Portonave currently offers 14 service lines that connect Brazil with the main international shipping routes in Africa, the Americas, Asia, and Europe.

In imports, the products most handled by the terminal are plastics and derivatives, textiles, and machinery. Exports include wood and derivatives, frozen meat and derivatives, and machinery, according to Datamar.

Since the beginning of operations, more than 11.6 million TEUs (measurement unit equivalent to a 20-foot container) have been handled, and 8.6 thousand ships have already docked at the port.
