The Minister of Ports and Airports, Márcio França, said he is in a hurry to transfer the Giusfredo Santini Maritime Passenger Terminal, currently managed by Concais, to the areas of the old warehouses 1, 2, and 3 of the Port of Santos, in Valongo. Today, it operates in the Outeirinhos region.
“It still has a contract time (until 2038), but it is in an inadequate place … We need to remodel the space from warehouses 1 to 3. From warehouse 1 to here, we will do it quickly because it is part of our terminals, our warehouses, up to the Casa de Pedra. And from the Casa de Pedra to the back, it’s up to the City Hall, which is Valongo Park,” said the Minister of Ports and Airports.
Regarding the transfer of the Passenger Terminal of the Port of Santos, according to the president of APS, Anderson Pomini, the status is that “negotiations have advanced, in view of the need to format the exchange. Concais needs to leave its current location and come here”.
Still according to Pomini, “the minister asked that we, as much as possible, preserve the installation of companies that are in this location, such as Ecoporto. The idea is to contemplate all the interests, with the maintenance of the companies, job generation, and the Valongo Park ready”.
