Portos do Paraná held a public hearing on Tuesday (9), both in person and livestreamed on the company’s official channel, to present and receive contributions regarding the Basic Project for expanding and modernizing the electric power distribution system for the port area of the Port of Paranaguá.
The project will increase current capacity from 5 MW to 60 MW. This expanded capacity will meet the needs already projected for the coming years. All participants were able to ask questions during the hearing, but it will still be possible to submit questions and suggestions about the proposal until Sunday (14).
“This hearing was very important for Portos do Paraná and for the entire port community, as it gives visibility to the project that will meet future demands. The Port of Paranaguá is expanding with the ‘T’ and ‘F’ piers. This modernization will bring greater reliability to our energy distribution system,” highlighted Victor Kengo, the company’s Director of Engineering and Maintenance.
According to the General Maintenance Manager, Normando Marcondes, the new dedicated line for the Port of Paranaguá will increase the power supply capacity twelvefold. “We currently have a 5-megawatt supply, and we will increase it to 60 megawatts. The installation of the new distribution substation accompanies the projected demand growth with the construction of new structures on our quay. It is a very robust project designed to support the coming years,” he stated.
In addition to greater capacity, the new line will also bring greater reliability and stability. “We will no longer depend on any intermediate Copel step-down substations. The connection will be made directly to the main substation in Paranaguá, ensuring greater reliability and energy availability for the port,” explained Kengo.
The deadline for those who want to learn more details, view the project files, submit contributions or send questions ends next Sunday, December 14. To do so, simply visit the website:
