Two thousand units of Toyota’s Hilux and SW4 truck were unloaded on September 12th at the Port of Rio Grande. The vehicles were aboard the Roll-on Roll-off vessel Taipan, which docked at the public pier of Rio Grande at dawn, coming from the Port of Zarate, Argentina.
The landing operation began in the morning and continued all day, requiring the participation of multiple professionals. The vehicles were transported from Rio Grande to the Japanese brand’s Distribution Center in Guaíba.
Concurrently, 311 Chevrolet Onix vehicles were shipped, all bound for the Port of Cartagena in Colombia. Other rolling loads shipped before the end of the day included tractors, mobile asphalt plants, and two bus bodies without chassis.
From January through August, 11,347 cars were shipped through the Port of Rio Grande, while another 2,020 arrived throughout the year.
