Infrastructure works carried out by Portos do Paraná on the main access roads to the Port of Antonina have reached 50% completion. The investment of R$21.9 million includes concrete paving, the construction of pedestrian sidewalks, bike lanes, bus stops, road signage, and improvements to the drainage system.
Concrete was chosen for its greater durability compared to asphalt, reducing the need for frequent maintenance. “The new pavement will provide greater road safety for all users traveling through the area. We are also installing wider, well-marked sidewalks and bike lanes, offering more comfort for pedestrians and cyclists,” said Gustavo Madalozo Laffitte, Budget Coordinator at Portos do Paraná.
On Conde Matarazzo Avenue, one of the city’s main roads, paving work has already reached 80%. Another road included in the Portos do Paraná investment program is Engenheiro Luís Augusto de Leão Fonseca Street, where concreting works began in early February. The entire project is scheduled for completion in June this year.
PORT IN NUMBERS – In 2025, the Port of Antonina handled 1.3 million tonnes of cargo, including bagged and bulk sugar, fertilizers, and other products. The terminal is managed by Portos do Paraná, the public company responsible for Brazil’s second-largest port throughput and a six-time winner of the country’s best port management award, according to an evaluation by the Federal Government.
