Argentina’s Port of Rosario handled 1,017,979 tonnes of cargo in the first quarter of 2026, up 67% from the same period in 2025, provincial officials said.
Within Santa Fe’s broader logistics system, the Zona Franca Santafesina free trade zone handled 148,991 tonnes, a 76% year-on-year increase, officials said.
The Port of Santa Fe moved 46,864 tonnes, led by its agricultural bulk terminal, while the Port of Villa Constitución handled 81,975 tonnes, up 136% from a year earlier, according to the figures.
“The numbers speak for themselves: more than 1.2 million tonnes and 868 cargo operations in three months show Santa Fe is leading regional logistics,” Santa Fe Productive Development Minister Gustavo Puccini said.
Puccini said the provincial government is pursuing policies to position Santa Fe’s port and airport system as a strategic hub for Argentina’s littoral region, aiming to reduce reliance on other terminals and strengthen regional competitiveness.
“This performance confirms that Santa Fe’s logistics platform has become a central tool for productive development and for integrating our economy into foreign trade,” Puccini added.
Transport and Logistics Secretary Mónica Alvarado said the scale of cargo operations across ports and airports shows Santa Fe is moving toward a more modern, efficient and sustainable logistics model that can support regional production growth and meet the demands of international trade.
