Russia to import 300,000 tons of meat at zero tariff

On November 17th, Russia announced to the Brazilian government that it will open up a quota of 300,000 tons of meat imports at a zero tariff, for 200,000 tons of beef and 100,000 tons of pork. The information was transmitted to the Minister of Agriculture, Tereza Cristina, who is meeting with officials in Moscow.
The measure will be valid for six months. Today, the import tariff for up to 530,000 tons is 15%.

The minister met with the head of the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance, Sergey Dankvert. He guaranteed that representatives of the country will still make an inspection visit to Brazil in the first quarter of 2022 to enable new slaughterhouses to export to the Russian market.
