The Santos Port Authority (APS) has made available a citizen stewardship tool, an innovation integrated into the official Port of Santos app. This feature enables any citizen to report, in real-time, issues along the 20 kilometers of internal roads within the Organized Port, such as potholes, lighting failures, garbage accumulation, or water leaks.

Developed by the Software Factory (a partnership between Paipe and MSB), under the coordination of the APS Systems Development Management, the tool reinforces the institution’s commitment to digital transformation and to strengthening ties between APS and the local community.

How it works:

After downloading the “Porto de Santos” app (available on the Play Store and Apple Store), users can access the “Fale com o Porto” (Contact the Port) tab, select “Acessar Zeladoria” (Access Stewardship), complete a quick registration, and submit a report. Users can specify the exact location, describe the issue, and attach images to illustrate the situation.

Reports are reviewed by APS and, once validated, forwarded to the appropriate department. The process allows users to track progress via a protocol number, ensuring transparency and efficiency in resolution. According to APS President Anderson Pomini, the feature represents progress in the relationship between the port and the community.

“We are democratizing care for public assets. Citizen stewardship turns residents and workers into active agents in maintaining the largest port complex in the Southern Hemisphere,” he stated.

The feature is already active, with updates and enhancements planned for the coming months. The initiative is part of APS’s strategic innovation portfolio, which includes investments in 5G, port management systems, and the Digital Twin project, reinforcing Santos’s role at the forefront of global port technology.

In addition to the Citizen Stewardship feature, the app provides information on operations, services, strategic projects, and news from the Port of Santos.
