Portos RS has begun maintenance work on signage in the primary area of the Port of Rio Grande. The initiative includes the renewal of signage and the installation of concrete barriers. The goal is to ensure safety and organize the flow of vehicles and pedestrians circulating in the area. Portos RS expects to complete the horizontal signage for this first phase by the end of the month. Next will be the installation of vertical signage, followed by the delivery of concrete barriers and a semi-gantry sign structure in September.
In the first stage, the work is focused on applying thermoplastic paint to mark centerlines, edges, arrows, pedestrian crossings, and stopping zones. This marking is done with heated paint that is more resistant, offering greater durability and visibility.
The president of Portos RS, Cristiano Klinger, stated that maintenance is essential for daily operations. “Signage is a key element for the safety of operators, workers, and visitors. By keeping the roads organized and properly marked, we reinforce operational safety and efficiency in movement within the port,” he explained. The interventions are part of an ongoing plan to preserve the land infrastructure of the Port of Rio Grande, ensuring port operations are carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with current technical standards.
