Cargo throughput at the Port of São Francisco do Sul totaled 1.5 million tonnes in April, up 1.5% from the same month in 2025, when 1.48 million tonnes were handled.

The highlight of the period was soybean exports to China, which reached 789,000 tonnes. The volume represents a 44% increase from April last year, when 548,000 tonnes of the grain were shipped.

Exports totaled 843,000 tonnes, accounting for 56% of all cargo handled during the month. Inbound cargo at Santa Catarina’s largest port reached 655,000 tonnes, equivalent to 44% of monthly throughput. Steel products led the list of unloaded goods, with 416,000 tonnes, followed by fertilizers, with 216,000 tonnes.

According to Port President Cleverton Vieira, the growth in soybean handling reflects São Francisco do Sul’s logistics coordination and operational capacity during the crop export season.

“The alignment of operations and team planning have made it possible to meet higher demand consistently, maintaining cargo flows and service efficiency for users,” Vieira said.
