Suape Port Sets Vehicle Export Record with Stellantis Mega Operation

Suape has reached another historic milestone: the port recorded the largest single-ship vehicle export operation by Stellantis. A total of 4,006 vehicles manufactured at the automaker’s plant in Goiana, in Pernambuco’s Zona da Mata Norte region, were shipped to Argentina — marking an unprecedented logistical feat for the automotive conglomerate, which produces models for the Fiat-Chrysler, Jeep, and RAM brands.
“Stellantis is a key strategic partner for the development of the entire Northeast region. We have been continuously working to improve the port’s infrastructure, ensuring increasingly agile and efficient operations. This achievement is the result of collective effort, and everyone involved deserves congratulations,” highlighted Suape Port’s CEO, Armando Monteiro Bisneto.
The vehicles were loaded aboard the Dover Highway, a car carrier vessel operated by K-Line, during a 48-hour operation at Berth 5. This shipment represents the largest volume ever exported at once by Suape, the sixth-busiest public port in Brazil, reaffirming the capacity and efficiency of Pernambuco’s logistics hub. The mega-operation took place on June 17 and 18, mobilizing dozens of workers.
“This record confirms the strengthening of our operations in South America and signals an important recovery of demand in Argentina, a strategic market for Stellantis,” said Emanuele Cappellano, President of Stellantis South America. The Jeep Renegade was the most exported model in this shipment, accounting for 26% of the total volume, followed by the Jeep Compass (25%), Fiat Toro (24%), Ram Rampage (16%), and Jeep Commander (9%).
LEADER IN NORTH AND NORTHEAST BRAZIL
The Suape Vehicle Hub has shown significant growth in recent years, positioning the port as the leading gateway for automotive cargo in Northern and Northeastern Brazil. Operations of this magnitude strengthen the local automotive supply chain, stimulate new investments, and attract additional suppliers to the region — expanding the sector’s socioeconomic impact in Pernambuco.
In 2024, the hub handled 80,057 vehicles, with 77% of those produced at the Stellantis Automotive Hub in Goiana. Between January and June of this year, the port handled 37,668 vehicles. From May 27 to 29, 2024, Suape had previously recorded its largest vehicle import operation, with 5,459 electric and hybrid units from BYD, the Chinese automotive giant.
