Suzano sets record for pulp shipments through Port of Santos

Suzano, the world’s largest pulp producer, set a new shipping record in 2025, moving more than 5.8 million metric tons of pulp through its terminals at the Port of Santos in São Paulo state, driven by logistics investments, operational expansion and rising global demand.

The volume marks a 41% increase from 2024, when the company handled 4.1 million tons. According to port authority data, Suzano accounted for 58.8% of all pulp exported through the Santos port complex last year.

The company’s performance also helped lift Brazil’s overall pulp exports, which reached 9.9 million tons in 2025, up 21% from the previous year.

Shipments were primarily handled through the T32 terminal and DP World’s facility, which move output from Suzano’s industrial plants in Três Lagoas and Ribas do Rio Pardo, both in Mato Grosso do Sul state, as well as from its mill in Jacareí, São Paulo.

The company also posted a monthly record in December 2025, shipping 481,000 tons — surpassing the previous high set in May of the same year.

To support the surge in volumes, terminal facilities underwent expansion and modernization, increasing average annual handling capacity by more than 43% and boosting on-site storage capacity.

Suzano also invested in rail transport improvements, part of a broader strategy to enhance logistics efficiency, lower emissions and strengthen the competitiveness of Brazilian pulp in global markets.
