TCP, the company that manages the Container Terminal of Paranaguá, increased its operational draft from 2.10 meters to 12.30 meters. The 20-centimeter increment is part of the terminal’s expansion plan, announced earlier this year.
Approved by the Brazilian Navy, the measure will provide greater efficiency, safety, and more frequent vessel calls with greater loading capacity.
In recent years, TCP has invested in maritime infrastructure, slowly expanding its operations.
For example, technical studies were conducted in 2021 in collaboration with Portos do Paraná, Paraná state’s port authority, allowing the operational draft of the Port of Paranaguá to be increased by 1,440 TEUs per vessel compared to the capacity available in 2015.
