Tecon Santos sets third monthly handling record of the year: more than 243 thousand TEUs in October

Santos Brasil set another monthly container handling record at Tecon Santos. In October, the Company handled 243,860 TEUs at the terminal, an unprecedented figure across all of South America.

This is the third record for Tecon Santos in 2025. The previous ones were recorded in June and July, totaling 238,452 TEUs and 229,708 TEUs, respectively.

The largest and one of the most efficient container terminals in South America, Tecon Santos, reached the end of 2025 with 2.7 million TEUs of annual capacity and will reach 3 million TEUs by the end of next year.

The terminal’s expansion and modernization project began in 2019, and by 2031, approximately R$2.6 billion will have been allocated, of which more than R$1.6 billion has already been invested.

According to the Port Terminal Operations Director at Santos Brasil, Bruno Stupello, the company continues to grow year after year in a sustainable manner, with a strategy focused on expanding capacity, modernization, and increased productivity. “We will continue investing in new equipment, optimization of operational flows, systems, decarbonization, and technology — always aligned with our Climate Transition Plan, which aims to make the Company net zero by 2040. The results are also the result of the commitment and dedication of our employees,” he says.
