Three Containers Fall Off Ship at Port of Itajaí

Three empty containers fell off the MSC Kalamata VII at the Port of Itajaí on the northern coast of Santa Catarina on Monday (April 28). According to the Port of Itajaí Authority, the incident occurred around 2:00 p.m. due to technical issues while the vessel was docked at the leased terminal.
According to the official statement, the containers fell into the Itajaí-Açu River but were promptly removed from the water. The recovery operation was completed without any reported injuries or environmental damage.
