The trade balance of the electric and electronic sector accumulated a deficit of US$ 19.24 billion up until the month of July, 29.2% higher than that verified in the same period of 2020 when the difference between exports and imports was US$ 14.78 billion.
In the first seven months of this year, exports totaled US$ 3.1 billion (an increase of 23.7% over the same period last year) and imports reached the figure of US$ 22.4 billion (an increase of 29.2 % compared to the same period in 2020). The data are from ABINEE (the Brazilian electric and electronic industry association).
Despite the improvement, the result accumulated in the first seven months of this year is still 5% below the accumulated result for January-July 2019 (US$ 3.3 billion), the period prior to the pandemic.
