T’Trans to supply wagons for MRS

T’Trans, held by Itapemirim Group, has resumed its activities at the Três Rios (RJ) plant to produce a prototype HNT wagon model which was ordered by MRS. The forecast is that the wagon (for gravel transportation) will be delivered in August this year for testing at the dealership. “The wagon will be tested for up to two months. After the approval of this first unit, we can continue to manufacture the others. The wagons will be equipped with an automatic unloading system. We are optimistic to contribute to the rail freight market again, and, especially for such an important company in Brazil”, says Jean Carlos Pejo, CEO of Industrial Ferroviário and Board Member of the Itapemirim Group.
The company has not disclosed the number of wagons ordered. Work on the rolling stock factory in Três Rios has been halted since T’Trans entered the process of court-approved financial restructuring in 2018.
In the same year, businessman Sidnei Piva, owner of the Itapemirim Group, bought T’Trans and other companies in the railway sector (Cruzaço, Hewitt, and Bom Sinal).
