The United States International Trade Commission (USITC) revoked the 103.4% antidumping duty on Brazilian exports of non-alloy welded steel pipes of circular sections. The Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade, and Services (MDIC) disclosed the information today.
Last year, Brazilian exports of welded steel pipes of circular section amounted to $457,000 in the United States and $22 million globally. The duty had been in effect since 1992, and the revision was achieved “through the joint efforts of the Secretariat of Foreign Trade (Secex), a part of the Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade, and Services, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs,” stated the ministry in a release.
The chart below show the volume of steel tube exports, measured in TEUs, shipped from Brazil to US. The data is from DataLiner.

“The Brazilian government will continue its commitment to normalize and expand steel trade with the United States, an important partner in the sector, considering the ties and integrated chains” between the two countries, stated the MDIC.
