Uruguay’s National Ports Administration (ANP) said its economic result for 2025 rose 32% from 2024 to 2.233 billion Uruguayan pesos ($57.2 million), helped by higher pulp and bulk cargo volumes handled at the ports of Montevideo and Nueva Palmira and at the Punta del Arenal transfer station.

ANP said that, by segment, container throughput fell 25% in 2025, but overall foreign trade grew 5% to 463,677 TEUs from 440,322 TEUs in 2024. Passenger traffic increased 5%, bulk cargo volumes in Montevideo rose 29% and bulk volumes in Nueva Palmira increased 8%, the authority said.
