Vietnamese sanitary authorities have completed a technical assessment and cleared four additional Brazilian meatpacking plants to export bone-in and boneless beef, Brazil’s Agriculture Ministry (MAPA) said.

The newly approved facilities are located in Rondônia (two plants), Mato Grosso do Sul (one) and Tocantins (one). They add to four plants previously authorized, based in Goiás (three) and Mato Grosso (one).

MAPA said the technical dossiers submitted by Brazil were reviewed and approved, confirming that the establishments meet Vietnam’s sanitary and food safety requirements for export certification.

Vietnam’s beef market was formally opened to Brazilian products in 2025, following decades of negotiations. The breakthrough came during an official visit by Brazil’s president to Hanoi, which helped strengthen bilateral dialogue and expand opportunities for Brazilian exports to the Asian country.

With the latest approvals, Brazil now has eight beef plants authorized to ship to Vietnam, effectively doubling its current export capacity and reinforcing the presence of Brazilian beef in one of the countries that has seen the fastest growth in animal protein consumption in recent years.
