Volkswagen Brazil Resumes Exports to Africa with Country’s Best-Selling SUV

Volkswagen Brazil has resumed exports to Africa. Shipments to the continent began with 200 compact SUV T-Cross units destined for Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Madagascar, Rwanda, and Senegal.

This market expansion reinforces the German brand’s status as the leading exporter in Brazil’s automotive sector, with over 4.3 million units shipped in its history.

The new T-Cross is manufactured in São José dos Pinhais (PR) and exported through the Port of Paranaguá (PR), where Volkswagen operates its terminal.

Last year, the automaker moved 46,126 vehicles — including exports and imports — through the Paraná port.

Volkswagen Brazil also uses the ports of Santos (SP) for international shipments, and Suape (PE) and Vitória (ES) for domestic distribution.

The T-Cross is Brazil’s best-selling SUV, with 26,493 units registered from January to April this year. It ranks third among all passenger vehicles.
