Wilson Sons informed that its logistics center in Santo André, São Paulo, raised its container handling by over 200% in the automotive sector between January and July of this year, compared to the same period in 2020. In the last seven months, the unit received 755 containers, equivalent to 12,800 tons of cargo for the segment.
The biggest increase occurred in June, when the unit handled 240 containers, corresponding to 2,800 tons. This result is approximately 17 times higher than the one achieved between January and July of last year.
Today, the Logistics Center performs special and just-in-time operations for this segment. With the automated operation, the customer receives the sequenced component (that is, following the production line of the vehicle model). Among the most popular products are car seats, engine blocks and axle housings.
