Egg Exports in 2024 Reach 18,400 Tons

Brazil exported 18,400 eggs in 2024, with Chile as the largest buyer, purchasing 6,871 tons (+141.4% compared to 2023). Following Chile were the United Arab Emirates with 2,354 tons (+108.7%), the United States with 2,115 tons (+84.9%), Japan with 1,633 tons, and Qatar with 1,107 tons.

The Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA) recently released the data. Despite the significant increase in export volumes to some countries, total export revenue amounted to $39.2 million in 2024, a decrease of 37.9% compared to the same period in 2023, reflecting downward pressure on international prices.

According to Ricardo Santin, president of ABPA, the sector faced challenges due to high domestic demand for eggs but managed to maintain export volumes significantly higher than two years ago. “The last quarter of 2024 marked the beginning of a positive trend in Brazilian egg exports, with levels that are expected to remain steady throughout 2025,” Santin stated.

Santin also shared projections for 2025 with Mundo Agro: an estimated production of 59 billion eggs, representing a 2.4% increase, and exports of 21,000 tons, a growth of 16.7% compared to 2024. This trend highlights Brazil’s role as a key player in the global animal protein market.
