The National Agency for Waterway Transportation (ANTAQ) has approved the analysis of contributions from Public Hearing 01/2025, which addresses improvements to the technical and legal documents related to the bidding process for leasing terminal NAT01.
The project, approved during last week’s Virtual Ordinary Meeting, will now be forwarded to the Ministry of Ports and Airports (MPor) and subsequently submitted for review by Brazil’s Federal Court of Accounts (TCU).
The area, located at the Port of Natal (RN), is designated for the handling and storage of solid mineral bulk cargo, particularly iron ore. The lease term is set for 15 years, with the option to extend.
A total of 34 contributions were received during the public consultation period, which took place between February and April 2025. The public session was held on March 25, 2025.
Among the accepted suggestions were adjustments to the terminal’s boundary area from 20,251.32 m² to 20,368.15 m² and the acquisition of a sweeper machine for the terminal. All received contributions and resulting changes to the project are available on the Agency’s website.
