On the morning of August 3rd, the superintendent of the Ports of Rio Grande do Sul, Fernando Estima, ratified the service order that regulates the use of berths at the Port of Rio Grande. The new document was created jointly with the port operators, who were able to make suggestions for drafting the regulations.
On that occasion, the new incident-registration system was also disclosed, the function of which is to facilitate the monitoring of incidents, especially those that happen on the edge of the pier. The quayside inspectors monitor port operations and will be responsible for entering the information into the system.
Operators also learned the details about the monitoring and control system for waterway traffic at the Port of Rio Grande. The protocol of intentions for its operation was signed during the visit of Governor Eduardo Leite between Portos RS, the Federal University of Rio Grande (FURQ), and SINTERMAR (the union of maritime terminals of Rio Grande).
