BA stock exchange maintains forecast for Argentina`s soybean and corn crop unchanged

According to the Buenos Aires Cereals Exchange, although the rains in late January and early February improved the humidity in soybean and corn fields in most of Argentina’s production areas, they were not enough to increase the expected average crop productivity for this 2020/21 harvest.
For this reason, the agency kept its production expectation unchanged at 46 million tons for both soybeans and corn. In the 2019/20 cycle, Argentines harvested 51.5 million tons of cereal and 49 million tons of oilseeds.
According to the stock exchange report, 96.5% of the entire planted area shows signs of adequate to optimum soil moisture, with more than 33% of the crop entering a critical growth stage.
