Brazil Expands Presence in Malaysia with Authorization to Export Bovine Collagen
Jul, 08, 2025 Posted by Denise VileraWeek 202528
The Brazilian government has welcomed the authorization from the Malaysian government to export bovine collagen for animal feed.
The measure marks another achievement for Brazil’s agricultural sector and strengthens the country’s presence in Southeast Asia. With over 34 million inhabitants and a developing livestock industry, Malaysia has demonstrated a growing demand for high-quality animal feed inputs, particularly for poultry and swine.
In 2024, Brazil exported approximately US$ 1.27 billion in agricultural products to Malaysia. The main items exported included sugar and ethanol products, fibers and textiles, cereals, flours and preparations, coffee, and meats.
With this new authorization, the Brazilian agribusiness sector has achieved 388 market openings since the beginning of 2023.
This milestone is the result of the joint efforts of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE).
