Brazilian poultry farming has gained a new and strategic high-value market. The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAPA) has officially announced that Brazil has been authorized to begin exporting processed eggs (egg products) to Singapore, one of the most demanding destinations in Asia. The news, celebrated by the Brazilian Association of Animal Protein (ABPA), represents an important recognition of the quality and sanitary standards of Brazil’s production chain.
The authorization was formalized by Minister Carlos Fávaro and Secretary of International Relations Luis Rua after a meeting with Singapore’s Minister of Sustainability and the Environment, Grace Fu, during her mission to Brazil. The successful outcome of the negotiations is the result of a joint technical effort that also involved the Agricultural Defense Secretariat, led by Carlos Goulart.
Singapore is a strategic market, with a high-income population and strong dependence on food imports. In 2024, the country imported the equivalent of 31,000 tonnes of eggs (518 million units), mainly from Thailand and Indonesia. Of that total, only 2,500 tonnes were processed egg products — a niche with high growth potential in which Brazil is now entering.
Demand is driven by a robust HORECA channel (Hotels, Restaurants, and Catering), a vibrant food culture — spanning from fine dining to traditional hawker centers — and a large flow of tourists and expatriates who demand safe, standardized, and convenient products such as liquid and pasteurized eggs.
