Brazil increased coffee exports to Russia almost fivefold in May – to an all-time record $ 26 million, according to an analysis by RIA Novosti of Brazilian customs data.
Thus, in late spring, Brazilian coffee exports to Russia increased 4.8 times year-on-year and 2.7 times month-on-month, reaching $26 million. This was the highest volume of sales for the entire time of trade between the two countries.
Deliveries in January-May reached $ 65.2 million, which is a third more than last year’s result.
Brazilian Ambassador to Russia Rodrigo de Lima Baena Soares told RIA Novosti on Sunday that Brazil hopes to increase coffee supplies to Russia by 20%, but the price remains volatile and depends on unpredictable factors, including climate change. According to RIA Novosti calculations published in April, Brazil in 2023 was the second largest exporter of coffee to Russia with a share of 18%.
