Brazil secures new market and expands quail exports to the Middle East

Brazil has advanced in its trade expansion strategy and secured new market openings for agribusiness products. The country obtained authorization to export quails to the United Arab Emirates and black beans to Lebanon, after the conclusion of sanitary and phytosanitary negotiations conducted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Itamaraty). The new approvals strengthen Brazil’s presence in two key Middle Eastern destinations and expand the portfolio of national products in the international food trade.

In the United Arab Emirates, local authorities approved the entry of quails intended for animal feed — a new segment for Brazil in a market that, in 2024 alone, recorded more than USD 3.3 billion in imports of Brazilian agricultural products. Lebanon, in turn, will begin importing black beans, expanding its import list that already includes meats, sugar, ethanol, and soy. With these new achievements, Brazil has opened 488 new markets since 2023, reflecting the joint efforts of Mapa and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to diversify destinations and consolidate the country as one of the world’s leading food suppliers.
