Brazil’s Date Imports Near USD 10 Million

Brazil’s date imports have surged in recent years, reaching USD 9.6 million in 2024, according to data from Comex Stat. Tunisia and the United Arab Emirates are the country’s leading suppliers, with the fruit typically arriving in its dried form, which ensures a longer shelf life.
Despite some plantations in Brazil’s Northeast and efforts to boost local production, domestic supply still falls short of meeting demand. With their sweet taste, soft texture, and high fiber content, dates are gaining popularity among Brazilian consumers.
