CMA CGM will overhaul its Far East–East Coast South America network from mid-December, introducing revised SEAS 2 and SEAS A rotations aimed at expanding direct port coverage between Asia and South America.

The changes will increase direct calls in Brazil while maintaining access to Argentina and Uruguay and extending connections to Paraguay, Southeast Asia, the Middle East and the Indian Subcontinent.

Asia East Coast South America shipping network expands

The revised SEAS 2 service is scheduled to begin from Asia with the CMA CGM Cobalt, departing Tianjin Xingang on December 14, 2026.

The new rotation will be:

Tianjin – Qingdao – Shanghai – Ningbo – Shekou – Singapore – Rio de Janeiro – Santos – Paranaguá – Itapoá – Itajaí – Santos – Rio de Janeiro – Colombo – Singapore

The service will provide direct coverage across northern, central and southern China, alongside five Brazilian ports: Rio de Janeiro, Santos, Paranaguá, Itapoá and Itajaí.

CMA CGM also said the service will connect with Mercosul Line services serving Brazil’s Northeast coast.

Singapore and Colombo will provide onward connectivity to Southeast Asia, the Middle East and the Indian Subcontinent. The service will operate with weekly departures.

SEAS A strengthens Plata and reefer coverage

The revised SEAS A service will begin with the CMA CGM Xenon, departing Ningbo on December 17.

Its rotation will be:

Ningbo – Shanghai – Shekou – Singapore – Santos – Navegantes – Montevideo – Buenos Aires – Navegantes – Santos – Coega – Singapore

The Coega call remains subject to confirmation of the berthing window.

The rotation will provide coverage of the Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay markets while adding double calls at Santos and Navegantes to serve both import and export flows.

CMA CGM is also positioning SEAS A as a reefer-focused connection, linking refrigerated cargo from East Coast South America with markets in Africa, the Middle East, the Indian Subcontinent and Asia.

The December changes give the carrier two distinct Asia–South America loops: SEAS 2 with broader Brazilian port coverage and SEAS A with stronger Plata and reefer connectivity.
