The Executive Management Committee of the Chamber of Foreign Trade (Gecex-Camex) met on Monday (20/10) to deliberate measures to protect the domestic industry and reduce import tariffs on various products.
Gecex decided to eliminate or renew zero import tariffs on 43 products, including medications used in cancer and psoriasis treatments, and 23 types of food preparations designed for specific diets for infants, children, and adults with different clinical conditions.
In the area of trade defense, the committee approved the application or renewal of four anti-dumping measures against products originating from China — including hairbrushes, titanium dioxide pigments, padlocks, and nylon threads — and one measure against imports from Germany and the United States concerning ethanolamines (monoethanolamines and triethanolamines).
Finally, five products were added to the list of temporary tariff increases due to Commercial and Conjunctural Imbalances (DCC), following requests from the paper, steel, and chemical industries.
The full decisions from the 230th Regular Meeting of Gecex will be published on the Camex website.
