Guohang Ocean Shipping held a delivery ceremony for its first 73,800 DWT methanol dual-fuel bulk carrier, Guoyuan 703 , in Nantong, Jiangsu Province, China, IMarine reported.
The vessel was built by Jiangsu Haitong Offshore Engineering Equipment Co., Ltd. (JSHT). The milestone marks another step forward in the shipping company’s efforts to innovate with eco-friendly dual-methanol fuel vessels.
Guohang Ocean Shipping has reserved a methanol dual-fuel power system for this series of bulk carriers and acquired three class designations for methanol dual fuels.
In addition, the 73,800 DWT bulk carrier is equipped with ship navigation auxiliary safety systems, an energy efficiency system, an electromechanical equipment testing and analysis system, and an information integration platform.
It is understood that Guohang Ocean Shipping and JSHT signed the construction contract for the 73,800 DWT 4+2 and two series bulk carriers in January 2023 and February 2024, respectively.
