Last week, Log-In Logística Intermodal signed an agreement to purchase two container ships worth US$ 42.6 million each. The new vessels will be built at the Chinese shipyard Zhoushan Changhong International Shipyard Co. The transaction amount will be paid in two installments in line with two contractual milestones: December 2023 and May 2024.
Each vessel has a nominal capacity of 3,158 TEU, a total length of 199.98m and a beam of 35.2m. The projected effective transport capacity is approximately 25% greater than the capacity of Log-In Polaris, Log-In’s most modern ship, but with similar fuel consumption performance due to the most current and efficient technology, helping in reducing the emission of pollutants per transported TEU.
