Market Opening in Australia for Fish Exports
May, 07, 2025 Posted by Sylvia SchandertWeek 202520
The Brazilian government has celebrated the authorization granted by Australian sanitary authorities to export wild-caught fish from Brazil to that market.
The opening of the Australian market represents a strategic opportunity for Brazilian exporters, especially in the trade of high-value species such as tuna, hake, lobster, and croaker. In 2024, Brazil exported over USD 400 million in fish products.
With this authorization, Brazilian agribusiness reaches its 57th market opening in 2025, totaling 357 new business opportunities since the beginning of 2023.
This achievement is the result of joint efforts by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE), and the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture (MPA).
