Navegantes YTD handling hits record-breaking 1 million TEU

On November 12, Portonave surpassed one million TEUs handled. The record was set during the operation of the Ever Laurel vessel, owned by Evergreen, the same vessel that inaugurated the new Evolution Basin in May 2020. With a capacity of 8,452 TEU, the vessel is 334.9 meters long and 45.8 meters wide. The terminal now joins ranks of the select terminals at the Santos Port Complex that have already handled more than 1 million TEU in the same year, contributing to the Santa Catarina economy.

The achievement is the result of the month-to-month performance with significant milestones reached in the port segment, mainly in February, March, May, September, and October, when more than 100,000 TEU/month were handled. Portonave continues to lead container handling in the South in both segments: import and export. On a national scale, the first private terminal in the country remains in second place in the ranking of container-handling ports. It is known for having one of the highest container-handling growth rates among terminals in Brazil, with a 37% growth compared to the numbers achieved with the same period last year.
