ONE Prepares for Drought Conditions in Brazil

Japanese shipping company Ocean Network Express (ONE) is preparing for a drought that will impact northern Brazil in the coming months.
The company announced that “our teams are already closely monitoring the hydrological situation in Northern Brazil and preparing for the expected drought period in the months ahead.”
As part of this effort, ONE stated that “our dedicated Drought Operations Information Page was reactivated on May 16, 2025, providing key updates on river levels through notices, container tracking, and contingency plans.”
Despite the forecast, ONE emphasized that “the Caribbean Service 1 (CX1) route, which serves Manaus and Vila do Conde, is operating normally.”
The carrier reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining cargo safety and shipment continuity and to ensuring transparent communication with all customers throughout the period.
