Paraguay meat exports volume fall nearly 12% in 2025, revenue up 10%

Meat exports posted an 11.98% volume decline in Paraguay across 2025. Even so, revenues rose 10.24%. The outcome reflects uneven performance across segments and the influence of key markets such as the United States and Taiwan, which played a significant role over the year.
The year was clearly positive for the pork sector, which increased export volumes by 54% compared with the previous year, generating revenues of $55.8 million, up 66.8% year on year. Taiwan remained the main destination, making pork the bright spot in both volume and value growth among animal-origin exports.
Below is a historical overview of Paraguayan pork exports by maritime transport starting in January 2023. The chart was prepared using DataLiner data:

Beef exports showed a more modest increase in volume, up 0.78% over the past 12 months, but revenues climbed nearly 20%, reaching a record $2.13 billion. In this segment, prices paid by the United States and Taiwan—now established as the second- and third-largest markets, behind Chile—supported strong revenues despite largely stable shipment volumes.
The poultry sector, which recorded declines in both export volumes (-31%) and revenues (-36%) in 2025, was largely responsible for the overall drop in animal product export volumes during the year.
In total, Paraguay exported 688,330,645 kilograms of animal products and by-products in 2025, generating $2.689 billion in revenue, according to data from the National Animal Quality and Health Service (Senacsa).
