Paraguay: pork meat exports to Taiwan grows by 108%

In 2024, Taiwan solidified its position as the largest export market for Paraguayan pork. 87% of shipments were sent to the Asian country, with a commercial value of USD 29 million.
According to reports, the Taiwanese Embassy in Paraguay celebrated the figures and the 108% growth in exports compared to 2023.
In February 2023, the first pork export to the Taiwanese market was completed for that year, which ended with 7,689 tons, compared to 2,818 tons in 2022.
By 2024, total pork exports exceeded 11,961 tons, a 55% increase, generating a commercial value of USD 33.5 million.
In March of last year, the confirmation of a Zero Tariff for the entry of this product allowed for the growth of exports between Paraguay and Taiwan.
