Petrobras expects to import one diesel cargo in June, the state-run company said in a statement to Broadcast, the real-time news service of Grupo Estado. The company did not disclose volumes.
“Petrobras did not import diesel in May 2026. For June, only one import cargo is planned, with arrival scheduled for the end of the month,” the company said.
The possibility of imports during the period was already on the market’s radar. During Petrobras’ first-quarter earnings conference call, Angélica Laureano, the company’s Director of Logistics, Commercialization and Markets, stated that the seasonal increase in agricultural activity would lead Petrobras to import diesel in the second half of the year.
On recent occasions, Petrobras CEO Magda Chambriard reiterated that the company remains committed to achieving diesel self-sufficiency in Brazil by 2030.
