On January 15th the Port of Imbituba imported 16 generators, weighing 47 tonnes each, from China. The equipment is destined for the city of Bom Jardim da Serra, in the mountain range of Santa Catarina, where it will be used to help produce wind energy.
Special cranes, able to lift 100 to 150 tons, were used in the operation, as well as special vehicles, used to move the generators to the storage yard.
The COSCO ship, Da Tai, berthed in the morning and discharged the cargo on the same day. The operation was carried out by Santos Brasil, which operates the main berth at the Port of Imbituba. The ship was managed by Friendship.
