The Port of Imbituba is undergoing a transformation. On Sunday (25), the governor of Santa Catarina, Jorginho Mello, visited the municipality to announce new investments and participate in inaugurations and inspections. Over R$28 million was allocated for improvements in the city and port infrastructure, consolidating the Port of Imbituba as one of the state’s key logistics assets.
The highlight of the visit was the inauguration of the new SCPAR Porto de Imbituba data center. The facility, considered one of the most advanced in the market, will process and store all information from the port ecosystem, ensuring greater speed, security, and operation control. According to the government, this tech hub is a major step toward the port’s digitalization and operational efficiency.
Another key part of the agenda was inspecting the rock removal works at Berth 1 and expanding Berths 2 and 3. SCPAR CEO Christiano Lopes announced that access road improvements will include the installation of electronic speed bumps, rigid concrete paving on Avenida Manoel Florentino Machado, and the implementation of a drainage system at the Duque de Caxias Street roundabout. These projects total R$ 14 million in investments.
The regulation of the Results Participation Program (PPR) for port employees was also signed during the event. This initiative aims to value workers and encourage productivity by aligning team goals with the public company’s performance.
In addition to infrastructure investments, the state government and port administration presented initiatives focused on the local community. Funding is planned for cultural, sports, and economic events that will energize the city. Among them are the Imbituba Surf Circuit, the Imbituba Prize Campaign, and Imbcomex — a foreign trade event for Southern Santa Catarina.
According to Beto Martins, the Secretary of Ports, Airports, and Railways, this moment marks a new phase for the Port of Imbituba. “We are talking about structural investments that modernize logistics, increase operational capacity, and bring the port closer to regional development,” he emphasized.
