The Port of Itajaí posted strong performance in the first quarter of 2026, surpassing the mark of 1.2 million tonnes handled through March.
The figure consolidates throughput at the terminal over the first three months of the year, indicating operational continuity and further progress in cargo flows.
In March alone, the port handled 382,284 tonnes. In the container segment, throughput reached 35,187 TEUs, maintaining port activity over the period.
The figures reflect the Port of Itajaí’s operating dynamics in the first months of the year, with steady cargo movement and continued activity in container transport.
According to Port Superintendent Artur Antunes Pereira, the results confirm the strength of the terminal’s operational recovery and the port’s strategic role in Santa Catarina’s economy.
“Surpassing the mark of 1.2 million tonnes handled in the first quarter shows that the Port of Itajaí remains fully operational, with regularity, safety and the capacity to respond to market demands. These are numbers that reinforce the importance of the public port for income generation, job creation and economic development in Itajaí and in Santa Catarina,” he said.
With these results, the Port of Itajaí reaffirms its role in Brazil’s logistics landscape and its contribution to the economy of Santa Catarina.
