JBS Terminais, operator of the Port of Itajaí, has announced the start of operations for the Seas 3 service operated by CMA CGM. The new line will connect Santa Catarina with the Asian continent through weekly sailings. The first call is scheduled for October 22, with the 300-meter-long vessel CMA CGM Amazon.
“With this new route, our clients will benefit from greater logistical efficiency, more transport alternatives, and broader global reach with high reliability,” JBS said in a statement. The new service will handle strategic export and import cargoes, reinforcing the Port of Itajaí’s position as an international logistics hub.
The terminal currently operates eight shipping lines. The expansion marks one year since JBS resumed container handling with regular lines at the Port of Itajaí in October 2024. So far this year, the company has moved 2.4 million tonnes of cargo through August, handling over 200,000 TEUs and servicing 205 vessels.
