Port of Natal to begin live cattle exports in August
Jul, 27, 2026 Posted by Gabriel MalheirosWeek
The Port of Natal is set to begin exporting live cattle at the end of August, bringing a long-running effort to launch the operation closer to completion.
The first shipment, bound for Lebanon, will serve as a trial operation and involve 3,000 head of cattle. Volumes are expected to increase if regular services are established.
Authorized by Brazil’s Ministry of Agriculture, the Port of Natal will become the first port in Northeast Brazil to handle this type of export.
The project has been under development in Rio Grande do Norte for more than a year and is gaining momentum because of the state’s strategic location and the prospect of generating an immediate economic boost for the region.
