Prumo Logística, the group responsible for developing the Port of Açu, reported earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) of R$814 million in the first half of 2025, a 29% increase compared to the same period last year.

The figures were presented on Tuesday, August 19, during Prumo Day 2025 in São Paulo, an event that brought together executives to discuss the impact of innovation on industry and how Brazil can lead the future fuels market.

“We have repositioned Açu as Brazil’s energy transition port, and this bet has proven to be the right one. Our results reflect Brazilian entrepreneurship and our obsession with generating greater competitiveness in the value chains we operate in,” said Rogério Zampronha, CEO of Prumo Logística, at the event’s opening, highlighting that 6% of Brazil’s GDP now flows through Açu.

Over the past 12 months, the company has signed five binding agreements with Fuella AS, HIF Global, Yamna, Sempen, and H2Brazil for the production of new fuels within the hydrogen and derivatives hub at the Port of Açu.

The port-industrial complex has already licensed one million square meters of land for these projects and plans to begin the licensing process for an additional three million square meters for the hub later this year.

One of the most advanced projects is HIF Global’s e-methanol plant, a product that could be used to fuel ships and serve the fine chemicals market. The final investment decision is expected to be announced by the end of 2025.

The event also featured the participation of former Finance Minister Pedro Malan, partner at consulting firm Moura Rocha & Malan, Cleber Morais, general director of Amazon Web Services (AWS) in Brazil, Stephen Potter, CEO of Tecnored and senior advisor at Vale, Alessandro Gardemann, director at Geo Biogás & Tech, and Clara Bowman.
